Being able to hire an interior designer and getting the house upgraded or renovated has become a standard of living, a statement that you are well-off, better and slowly but steadily becoming a matter of respect.
History:-
The history of interior designing is as old as the civilizations itself, some example from ancient India are,
- Hypostyle Hall- Egypt; this is one of the most visited places in Egypt, situated in the Karnak temple, instituted by Hatshepsut, the second female pharaoh in the Egyptian dynasty, there are 134 pillars on the entrance of the temple, which area an indication of the birth of a self- created deity, Atum, who arose in the beginning of the creation of this temple.
- Taj Mahal , Agra; it is a 42 acres monument, regarded as legendary in the UNESCO world heritage , it took over 22 years to build and over 20,000 workers were employed for this from the Persian, ottoman and Europe empires.
- Oriental carpets- Mughal emperor, Akbar brought the hand woven carpets from Persia in the 16th century (1500-1599) to India. His father Babur when came to ‘HINDUSTAN’ was upset by the limited luxuries and missed these and Persia. These carpets later spread throughout India as a sign of Mughal Empire as well as class and style.
Something worth mentioning here is that interior designing is both an art and a science, it also requires an understanding of the individual one is designing for, human relations, communications and various other aspects of entrepreneurship, color scheme and so on and is not limited to any one discipline whatsoever.
